Personal Update
I know, I
know. Ive been an incredibly bad writer with no new rambling for at
least two months now. But, the less the rambling page is updated, the
better Im doing as far as working on those semi-important novels, which, in
case you didnt know, is the real reason I have this website. For my few
ardent followers, however, Ill try to do better with my website in the
future.
I guess one of the biggest things going on right now with my writing life is
that my poem patience
won honorable mention in FictionAddiction.NETs Second Annual Poetry Contest.
With only one grand winner and four honorable mentions, I guess thats pretty
okay. At any rate, Im thrilled. patience is one of my favorites
out of all the poems Ive written. It always struck that right chord in
my soul, especially when I wrote it. Other than that, Im working hard
on my second novel Underground,
which is surviving the major surgery very nicely. I also have a
non-fiction project going on that is more fun than I ever possibly imagined.
Look for news on that soon.
I'm not quite sure what else to write about tonight. I don't have any
great wisdom to pass. No deep insights on life -- and no rants about
impending holidays to share with the world. I also have few complaints.
So I thought maybe Id just relay a couple of observations I've recently had
and quietly go away for another month.
1) I have finally come to realize that irony is nothing more than
bothersome coincidence. I've come to fear irony, because in my life, irony
is abundant. Way too abundant.
2) There are two very important things that you need to know how to
correctly utilize in order to make it through life. One is the
conveniently-do-not-hears. The other is the
temporary-memory-losses.
And finally, before I sign off for the night and finish this rambling: if
youre out there and slowly mucking your way through my blathering, Tony
Finklehoffer, just remember this one thing...all the fireworks going off the
next few days, well theyre all for you. Happy Birthday from one of your
biggest fans.
