Another Personal Update
9-9-03

I imagine I’m past due for yet another personal update.  The biggest news in my life right now is that I’m officially under a publication contract for my first novel, False Security.  Please keep checking back for more details as the time of publication draws closer.  In the meantime, be sure to go to the Novels section of my website to read more about False Security, including excerpts from the novel, as well as learn about my other works-in-progress.

This wonderful news about False Security couldn’t have come at a better time for me.  With my poem patience recently chosen as a winner in the Second Annual FictionAddiction.NET Poetry Contest, and my newest non-fiction project now in full production, I have had great fortune in the writing business as of late.  It gives one hope in an otherwise mundane existence.  It really does.

I’m also having fun with my newest hobby, playing guitar.  Of course I feel like my fingers are tripping half the time, I seem to have absolutely no control as far as the volume goes, and, combined with all the typing I do, I’m probably the world’s greatest candidate for carpel tunnel syndrome.  But overall, it’s been fun, and maybe someday I’ll actually be able to create discernable “music”.  That would be a bonus.

Other than the guitar, some new poems have appeared in the Poetry section lately.  They might actually be happy poems.  Okay, so I lied.  There’s no such thing as happy poetry around here!  So be sure to look for all my newest depressing, tears-streaking, love-hating, tequila-drinking, eat-a-box-of-Lucky-Charms-in-one-sitting poems.  And if anyone out there happens to know of a good therapy group for authors of chronically depressed poetry, please let me know!
