| one of those days | ||||
| woke up desiring nothing but comfort but my favorite shirt had a stain found all my cigarettes were damp but i haven’t smoked in years drifted outside for a little light but the sun was on a coffee break sought the cleansing of my life but nature outright refused to rain wanted some music to enlighten me but the radio’s songs resounded flat sang all the notes left in my soul but my entire world was off-key removed the last of my chains but ran into a room with hungry wolves tried to jump off the nearest cliff but i landed firmly on my feet gave every last one of my dreams in exchange for a single ...moment... but my currency was refused it's just one of those days when all my rights are flagged as wrongs and all my wrongs are just that one of those days when life grins in my direction as it shoves its ironies up my ass |
